 Each summer when Alaska's abundant and sustainable salmon runs arrive, Steve, Jenny and their children fish on the west side of Kodiak Island. They work together on their seine boat to bring you the highest quality sockeye, coho and pink salmon found on earth.

In the year 2000, multi-national corporations owning Alaskan fishing processors began paying ridiculously low prices and running fishermen out of business. As a result, the enterprising Roth family began to direct market their salmon and "Alaskan Mariners Wild Salmon" was born. In this extended family enterprise Steve's mother Alice Roth and brother Greg Roth, both of Wisconsin, provide distribution, sales and logistics.

Many Alaskan fishermen would like to see Alaska's fishing families cooperate in the same manner as Organic Valley farmers have done in La Farge, Wisconsin.

Alaskan Mariners pride themselves in bringing you the highest quality fresh frozen sockeye, coho and pink salmon available. Alaskan Mariners salmon are caught in the ocean, not in rivers where the fish begin to deteriorate. Each salmon is handled gently to prevent bruising and are completely bled in the water while swimming, which provides less stress on the fish. This results in a super premium quality salmon. The fish are then chilled immediately down to 33 degrees in refrigerated sea water and custom processed within a short time. The Roths also work with other family fishing operations which freeze at sea. It just doesn't get any fresher than this!!! Salmon is FRESHER FROZEN!
